Good morning! Have you ever experienced the power of momentum? Think about when how long it takes a train to stop. Once that thing gets moving, it’s hard to stop it. According to Newton’s first law of physics – an object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced external force. The same thing is true as we build momentum in growing in our relationship with God! It’s so important for us to take steps each day to build on the day before.
Our lives should be transforming each day as we yield our hearts to the Holy Spirit and allow God’s Word to penetrate our heart, soul, and mind! As this happens, the people around us will notice! Our lives will be a living testimony of God’s love, forgiveness, power, and salvation! As Samuel anointed Saul as the king of Israel, he said to him in 1 Samuel 10:6,
“The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person.”
As Saul left Samuel, the Bible says that God changed his heart and everything Samuel told Saul was fulfilled to the point that in 1 Samuel 10:11 it says,
“When all those who had formerly known him saw him prophesying with the prophets, they asked each other, What is this that has happened to the son of Kish (Saul)? Is Saul also among the prophets?”
When God changes our heart, our lives will change. Take a moment today to think about how your life has changed since accepting Jesus as the Lord of your life. As you remember where you once were compared to where you are now, thank God for what He has done in you and ask Him to keep transforming you more into His likeness!
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of salvation and for making us new! Let our lives preach Your Good News to those around us today! Give us opportunity to testify of what You have done in us to encourage others! Stir in us a renewed passion for Your Word to know You more! Help us to always strive for a deeper relationship with You and thank You for never giving up on us! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
