Good morning! This morning I want to tell another story from Joshua’s 4-mile run. This was the hardest physical thing that Josh has ever done in his life. I wish I would have done it with him, but at the same time, I’m so glad I didn’t.

Let me explain… if I would have run the race with him, I don’t think he would have pushed so hard to get to the end. As much as I try to push him to do things beyond what he thinks he can, I am also cautious to not break him emotionally.

When his coaches were running the race with him, they were able to push him in a different way that made him go beyond what he thought he could do, while he did not have to worry about things like: arguing with me or the feeling of potentially disappointing me.

Because his coaches were running alongside him, setting the pace, and continually encouraging him to keep going – he finished the race and accomplished a huge feat that had the potential to break him down.

In the same way, because of the gift of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we are able to accomplish things that we never thought capable on our own. The Holy Spirit walks with us, encourages us, and empowers us to do greater things than we could ever imagine!

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Sometimes it is difficult to LIVE DIFFERENTLY than the people around us to be an ambassador for Jesus – but we don’t have to do it on our own! We will receive power from the Holy Spirit to be a witness for Him!

Let’s trust and rely on the Holy Spirit to help us live for God and live in a way that resembles our Creator, accomplishing purposes we never could have imagined!

Heavenly Father, thank You that we do not have to live this life on our own. Sometimes it is tough to go against the flow, but You call us to be different! Help us to rely on the gift of the Holy Spirit to accomplish great things for You! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
