Good morning! This week I received a call from my Dad, and honestly, I never know what to expect when he calls. Sometimes he calls to say hi, sometimes he calls to plan a trip up, he will call to tell me about something happening in our family, and he ALWAYS calls me when there is something wrong with his television LOL!

I don’t want to steer you wrong, it’s not like he calls me all the time, this is probably only the second time he has called me for a television issue in the last few months.

For anyone who doesn’t know, I’ve spent almost the last two decades of my life working in the telecommunications industry, and because of this, I am the person that gets the phone call or text whenever there is an issue.

Have you ever tried to walk a person over seventy years old through a technical issue over the phone? It’s interesting to say the least! Josh was sitting next to me for this call and he kept muting the phone so that we could have a good laugh together LOL!

Honestly, I can’t even begin to imagine how these things happen to their tv. When he called, he said the picture for the show was shrunken down and only displaying on half of the screen! Seriously, has this ever happened to anyone else?!

I began the painful task of troubleshooting and thankfully, this was an easy one, all he had to do was unplug the cable box and plug it back in. I’m not complaining because I always enjoy talking to my parents no matter what the topic of conversation is.

This made me think about how important we are to each other. We have all had different experiences throughout our lives that can be beneficial to the people around us.

And even more important, we have the opportunity to help each other grow spiritually when we have experienced answered prayer and spiritual growth in our own lives.

My parents may call me for television issues, but they call my other siblings for different things and all of us call our parents for help as well. The truth is… as Christians, we are all part of God’s family and meant to help and support one another!

Thankfully, we don’t have to do life alone, we can walk through it together! Let’s do our best to support one another and build each other up!

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”

Galatians 6:10

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your kindness to us. Thank You for never getting tired of helping us through the different seasons of life! Help us to treat others as You continue to treat us – patiently, lovingly, and consistently. Help us to use our gifts to build up the family of God. In Jesus Name – AMEN!
