Good morning! Have you ever felt like you are the only one around that makes any sort of sense of a situation? PLEASE tell me that I’m not the only one LOL! I’m talking about those situations where what seems to be common sense to me is such a farcicality to someone else.
These moments in life can take their toll on us when we start to question the way we think or act. We start to ask ourselves, ‘Am I the crazy one?’ The honest answer here is that sometimes we are, but most times we just think much differently because of our individual experiences and the influences of the people around us.
I am thankful for the people that God has placed in my life – from Pastors, to teachers, to bosses, to friends, to family, and even strangers that I have shared a conversation with – God has used each one to teach me something. Sometimes, God uses the individual to teach me what NOT to do, but in most cases, He teaches me through the unique qualities that He has given to each one.
What I have learned and am even being stretched in currently is that it is important to take a step back to look at the bigger picture. Put yourself in the other person’s point of view to try to understand where they are coming from and be open to allow God to use each interaction as an opportunity to grow!
God is the ultimate authority and should be the One we look to for guidance in what to believe, how to respond, and when to keep silent. We can only be confident that we are not ‘crazy’ when we act based on the foundation we have through our personal relationship with God.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
This verse is such a great reminder that it’s not up to me to make sense of things. When our trust is in God, He is the one that will straighten out the path ahead. Sometimes we go wrong when we try to make everything make sense and do not submit to His sovereignty.
Whatever you are facing today that makes you feel like you are the only one making sense, trust God! Submit to the truth in His Word, live according to His principles, and understand that things don’t always have to make sense in your brain. Trust God – He’s got you!
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant Presence in our lives! Thank You that we can come to You in every moment for guidance, support, and encouragement. Even when we are wrong, we appreciate Your kindness and gentleness. Help us to trust You and find confidence from a consistent, daily relationship with You! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
