Good morning! Yesterday we took a trip to an amusement park and had such a great time celebrating my nephew’s 13th birthday. The last time we went, Josh wanted to go on a ton of rides, but ended up, psyching himself out, not able to ride them. This time he told his cousin that since it was his birthday, he would ride all of the rides that he wanted to ride.

Josh has never been on a roller coaster that goes upside down and so I was curious to see what would happen when we actually got there. He ended up getting in line and riding a roller coaster and facing his fears.

I am so proud of him and it is such a joy watching him grow through adversity. He didn’t stop with that one roller coaster. He went on to ride a bunch more. There was even one where there was one person per row, and even though no one was sitting next to him he continued to push through and had a great time.

Isn’t this a great example of how fear and anxiety try to steal the joy out of our lives?! When we surrender our lives to Jesus, there is nothing that we need to fear. God is in complete control and there’s nothing that comes as a surprise to him. He has gone before us and will continue to walk with us to ensure His promises for us are fulfilled.

Whatever situation you find yourself in today that is trying to weigh you down, lay it at the feet of Jesus. He has defeated any power that tries to come against His perfect will for us.

Let’s keep our minds fixed on Jesus! That word fixed talks about something that is immovable and cannot be altered.  As long as our minds and thoughts are fixed on Jesus they can’t be fixed on anything else.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

    Philippians 4:6-7

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

    John‬ ‭14‬:‭27

Heavenly Father, thank You for the confidence available to us in our relationship with You! Help us to lay all of the things that are overwhelming us and trying to steal our joy at Your feet. Thank You for replacing fear and anxiety with peace and joy! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
