Good morning! There is something that happened earlier this week that I can’t stop thinking about! When we took the kids to the boardwalk to ride the rides, five of them wanted to ride ‘The Seven Seas’. The ride consists of a straight line of seats, side by side. The whole row of horizontal seats goes quickly in a circle over and over. As the seats were filling up, the kids were next in line and the person running the ride counted out the five seats left.
The kids told him that they wanted to sit together, and it looked like they were saying that they would wait til the next ride and let five other people go ahead of them. The thing that happened next is what blew me away!
The attendant for the ride went down the line having people that were already seated get up, move over, and fill in the empty seats until the five seats that were left, were all next to each other. The kids sat down together and enjoyed the ride!
I was standing next to Mer, my sister-in-law, and my nephew and we were all amazed at what was happening! This is not the norm in today’s day and age – that someone would go out of there way to help others.
This is exactly the way that God wants us to live! This is exactly the way that God has acted towards us! Shows us kindness even when it is undeserved!
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy.”
Titus 3:4-5
“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32
I do not know anything about the ride attendant, whether or not he knows Jesus as his personal Savior, but he definitely showed kindness in this moment. I want to live my life in a way that puts other’s interests above my own!
Let’s choose today to do something kind for someone else today to be the hands and feet of Jesus!
Heavenly Father, thank You so much for the kindness we were shown the other day, and the kindness You show us each and every day! Help us to follow Your example and show the same kindness to others today! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
