Good morning! Today I woke up thinking about how much waiting I did yesterday. We took a ride to NJ and as per usual, ended up sitting in a few spots of traffic; twenty minutes here, ten minutes there, and before you know it, forty-five minutes is tacked onto the drive.

Then when we got to the waterpark we ended up waiting on lines to enjoy the rides. Honestly, it seemed like the waiting was not warranted – there was so much time spent with no one riding the rides because the lifeguards would not send them down in an organized fashion.

At the end of the night, we went to get ice cream at one of my favorite spots and yet again, we grabbed a number and waited for it to be called.

Waiting is NEVER fun! Whether it is sitting in traffic, waiting on line, waiting for a package to arrive, or waiting for an answer to prayer, it is difficult to be patient.

Often times when we pray for something, it is hard for us be patient even when you know that God is in control. Just like I felt yesterday when I didn’t think the waiting was warranted, we often find ourselves having a hard time understanding the reason why God is not answering immediately!

It makes sense to us, why doesn’t it make to God?! This sounds silly when I read it back, but this is how I honestly feel at times! There are times when I get frustrated in the waiting, especially when I feel like my prayer is aligned with God’s heart – someone’s salvation, healing, guidance or clarity on His purpose for different situations I walk through.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

    2 Peter 3:8-9

Let’s remember how great our God is! He has not forgotten about us, there is NOTHING impossible for Him! Continue to put our hope and trust in Him!

Heavenly Father, thank You for being in control of every situation, especially the times when we find ourselves being frustrated by prayers that we haven’t seen the answer to YET! Help us to continue to trust You as we wait expectantly for You to work through each situation. In Jesus Name – AMEN!
