Good morning! I cannot believe that this is the last Friday before school starts. Summer break flew by this year and now there are only a few days left. I know there may be some parents out there that are looking forward to their kids going back to school, but I am NOT one of them!
I love the longer daylight, swimming, baseball, wiffle ball, basketball, mini golf, neighborhood walks, family hangouts, sunsets, and other things summer fun!
During the school year there is homework that takes what seems to be FOREVER, extracurricular events and outings, and work ALWAYS gets in the way – but during the summer it seems to be easier for us to have more quality time together.
There is nothing like spending time with my family. They always accept me (faults and all), always know how to cheer me up, make me laugh, and life is just better when I’m with them. We walk through the tough seasons of life together and have the best of times.
I don’t think Josh would actually agree with me, but we don’t even have to be doing anything to enjoy our time together – being together is more than enough!
The same is true in our relationship with God – but if you can believe it – on an even bigger scale! It can always be ‘summer break’ when it comes to our relationship with God! There is nothing that can keep God away from spending time with us! He is with us wherever we go and at all times. We don’t have to be doing anything special, just being with Him is enough!
Have you ever been outside during the summer – at the beach, in the woods, or anywhere enjoying God’s beautiful creation?! It seems like God speaks even louder in those settings!
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

Let’s do our best to take advantage of every moment to appreciate the quality time we get to spend with God! Take time to listen as He speaks through the things that He created.
Heavenly Father, thank You for the summer season – a time to enjoy Your creation, a time to rest, and a time to prepare for the next season. Thank You for speaking to us through Your creation! Help us to appreciate every second we have to spend time with You! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
