Good morning! As we get ready for the week ahead, I am personally looking forward to Thursday and Friday – because I took the days OFF!! I am definitely the type of person that is driven by what is ahead. For instance, to get through the work week, I look forward to the weekends!

I love taking time away from the rat race to spend time with my family, church family, and have the ability to do what we want to do, instead of fulfilling responsibilities. Don’t get me wrong, it is important to take care of the things we are responsible for, but it is just as important to take a break at the appropriate times and do something that we enjoy!

Going to work is a necessary responsibility that seems to always get in the way of doing what I want. I am thankful for my job and the wonderful people that I work with, but having to go there makes me appreciate the time away to be able to disconnect and re-energize to be able to give my very best at work (and everything else) to honor God!

This got me thinking about having to walk through the difficulties that come with being a part of this imperfect world, and how knowing that one day we will spend eternity with Jesus, drives us to live for Him in every moment of every day!

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.”

    Romans 8:18

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith… may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”

    1 Peter 1:6-7

Just like looking forward to the weekends helps drive me through the week, looking forward to eternity with Jesus fuels me to live for Him! That is something way more rewarding than anything this world has to offer! No matter what you have on the agenda this week, keep in mind the joy of spending eternity with God; this will provide the confidence, hope, and strength, to shine bright in this world for Jesus!

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the reason that we live! Thank You for the gift of life and help us to never take it for granted. Help us to not be weighed down by difficulties and struggles of this world, but instead be motivated to grow in our relationship with You and because in the end, it is all that really matters! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
