Good morning! I want to encourage you with one of verses that has had a big impact on the way I try to live each day.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Romans 12:2
Pay attention to the two key words used – Conform and Transform. When you look at the Greek words to understand the true meaning in the original language it paints such a clear picture.
Conform – It implies an EXTERNAL change to your public behavior and appearances.
Transform – It implies an INTERNAL change to your nature and character
We are not supposed to look like the world around us, but by spending time in God’s Word and allowing it to SHAPE US, our lives should be changed from the inside out to resemble our Creator!
Heavenly Father, give us eyes to see and ears to hear what you want to do in and through us! Help us to not be concerned about blending in with the world around us and instead be intentional about reading Your Word, spending time in prayer, and surrendering our hearts to You daily! Thank you for what You have done to bring us to where we are today, but continue to bring us deeper into relationship with You so that when the world looks at us, they see You! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
