Good morning! Let’s continue to grow together! This morning I want to share some scriptures as an encouragement. I’ve always been encouraged by the life of Joseph in the Bible. Sometimes we read about the people in the Bible and don’t necessarily fully grasp the reality of what they experienced. We tend to focus on the good parts of their lives without understanding or relating to the tough parts they walked through to get there.
Joseph is one of those stories – many people focus on the fact that he became one of the most powerful people in Egypt, second in command behind only Pharaoh. But in my opinion, one of the most inspirational and challenging aspects of Joseph’s story is how he remained faithful to God in all circumstances and persevered through the difficult times; almost killed by his brothers, wrongfully imprisoned, and seemingly forgotten about.
There are so many things that can be learned through the story of Joseph’s life and this morning I’m going to highlight them.
Trust God through Uncertainty
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Maintain your Integrity
“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”
Proverbs 11:3
Persevere through Adversity
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9
God’s Sovereignty in the Midst of Trials
“Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord Himself, is the Rock eternal.”
Isaiah 26:4
“So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
Whatever you are facing, remember that God is with you! He hasn’t given up on you. He hasn’t forgotten about you. Keep serving Him, trusting Him, holding onto Him, and living for Him! His timing is PERFECT! His ways our higher than our ways! He is faithful! He is the same God who opened the Red Sea for the Israelites to walk through on DRY ground! And He is the same God that resurrected to bring us new life!
Heavenly Father, we worship You! We adore You! You are good! You are faithful! You are our Rock and our Redeemer! You know exactly what season each person is walking through, and you are with us! I pray that we can be an encouragement to each other, as You have encouraged us! Help us to trust You when things don’t make sense. Help us to hold onto the truth in Your word! Use each situation to advance Your Kingdom! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
