Good morning! Here we are with another opportunity to GROW this morning! Let’s continue to pursue God each day – giving Him an opportunity to speak to us, guide us, carry us, and use us for His glory! It really is the most important part of our day! And in reality, it shouldn’t just be a part of our day, we should strive for constant communion throughout the day!
I have two scriptures this morning that God has placed upon my heart so here they are!
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Proverbs 4:23
Next to that scripture in my Bible, I wrote the following note: Be careful of what you let in – what you watch, listen to, and observe – Keep your eyes on Jesus! It is important to filter everything using God’s Word before we allow it a place in our lives. This is how we can guard our heart – by knowing the truth in God’s Word.
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Matthew 6:19-21
Not only do we have to guard our heart from what enters it, but we also have to choose what we will place value in. How do you spend your time? How do you spend your money? The answers to these questions will tell you where you place value.
Let our desire be to honor God with our time, with our finances, and with our lives – focusing on making an impact that will last for eternity! As we go about our day, let’s be aware of those moments where we must guard our hearts from the things of this world, and yield our hearts to the Holy Spirit. Remember that you are not alone! He is with you!
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your constant help! Thank you for our friends and family that surround us with prayer, encouragement, and accountability. Help us today to guard our heart from being influenced by the things of this world and instead BE TRANSFORMED by the truth in Your Word. We want to spend our time honoring you and we surrender our hearts to what You want to do today! Help us to make the most of every opportunity to store up treasures in heaven! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
