Good morning! This morning I am reminded about God’s sovereignty and limitless nature! As God was preparing the Israelites to move into the Promised Land, He told them He was sending an angel to go before them. The angel would guard them along the way and bring them to the place God prepared for them. In doing this, God said He will drive out the people in the land.
There is something that stands out to me as God was preparing the Israelites to walk into the Promised Land and I hope it encourages you today!
“But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.”
Exodus 23:29-30
There are many times in prayer where I find myself asking God – Why is this taking so long? We live in such an instant gratification kind of world where it has become easy to lose the discipline of being patient before the Lord. We have to remind ourselves that God sees the BIG picture – the whole picture! Often times while God is working on the answer to our prayers, He is also working on us! The Israelites were not in any kind of position to receive the land that God had promised them – YET! They needed to grow to be able to maintain and occupy the land.
What are you waiting for in prayer and what is God doing inside you to prepare you for the answer? Keep trusting Him, keep yielding to Him, and at just the right moment in time, you will receive God’s answer to your prayer. Sometimes it is instant and other times it may take years, but God knows better than we do! Whether the answer is yes, no, or maybe, continue to trust Him and watch what He can do!
Heavenly Father, we trust You! There are many prayer requests represented through the people reading this today. There are many promises we have received from You that are yet to come to fruition. We recognize Your sovereignty today and yield our hearts to You so that You can do whatever You need to do in us to prepare us for what’s to come. We are so thankful for Your love for us and find rest in knowing You have everything under control. In Jesus Name – AMEN!
