Good morning! Have you recently taken time to think about blessed we are to have the opportunity each day to experience a relationship with our Creator! We can discover more about who He is by reading His Word and allowing it to TRANSFORM our lives! But this relationship is not just for us, but for others to experience as well!
Reaching the lost is a responsibility that is shared by everyone who surrenders to Jesus as the Lord of their life. Jesus did all the work that was required for salvation, we could not do anything to save ourselves; however, the love of Christ should compel us to live differently, and set apart for Him.
“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”
1 John 3:18
We cannot simply tell others how much we love God and then go on living how we want to with no regard to the commands in God’s Word. We need to allow His Word to transform our hearts and mind. This will cause our lives to change as we surrender control of our thoughts and actions. Additionally, when it comes to others, we cannot tell them how much we love them, and then live isolated lives that show no concern for the situations they are in, the struggles they have, or the hurt they are feeling.
We are Christ’s AMBASSADORS!
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”
2 Corinthians 5:20
We are not mere messengers of the Good News, we are a “diplomatic official of the highest rank sent by a government to represent it on a temporary mission, as for negotiating a treaty.” The “government” we represent is God’s Kingdom and He has given us the responsibility and authority to speak on His behalf, persuading people to be reconciled to God.
When we become a Christian, our permanent citizenship is in God’s Kingdom. We are only here on the earth for a limited time and we are expected to make the most of it!
Rhetorical Question: What are you doing today or have you done in the last month to live as an ambassador for Jesus? Are you actively persuading people by sharing the testimonies of what God has done in your life to bring you to where you are today, or have you stopped at salvation?
Heavenly Father, please help us to understand the responsibility You have placed on us, Your children. You have adopted us as Your own and You want us to be Your representative here on the earth so that others too may surrender to Your authority. Help us to make the most of every opportunity to boldly share about what You have done to transform our lives and persuade others to answer Your call. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who provides us with power to be Your witnesses! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
