Good morning! I want to start out by asking a simple question – are you available for whatever God would call you to do today? Think about this for a moment, how often do we consider what God wants. The busyness of life has us bouncing around from one thing to another; and meanwhile, there are times when we pass by people who really need us to share Jesus with them!
It is so important for us to make ourselves available to God with the goal of caring for others, loving others, and showing others how much God loves them! We are His hands and feet to the people around us as we live our relationship with God out loud!
Jesus had compassion for every person He came in contact with. He perfectly related to each person around Him and met them where they were to bring them out of the mess they were in. It is so easy sometimes to be so caught up in our own lives and mess that we tend forget that the people around us need to see Jesus’s compassion put on display in the way that He uses us to care for them.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
As the people around us go through difficult times, we may not always have the “right” words to say, but we do know how God has comforted us and brought us through rough seasons. God is always with us and promises to never leave us – sometimes that is all people need to see in us; for us to be compassionate and available!
Another hope that we have as Christians is the fact that we know God can work in the middle of any situation. With the limited human view, things may seem impossible to walk through, but in Matthew 19:26, Jesus reminds us, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Let’s remember today how important it is for us to be thoughtful of others, compassionate for what they may be going through, and display the same grace we have received from God. You may be the only Jesus that someone sees today!
Heavenly Father, thank You so much for the compassion and comfort You have provided and continue to provide for us! Thank You that You are always with us and that You are able to work in and through all situations. Help us today to yield to Your Spirit to share Your heart for those around us! Help us to be Your hands and feet to our family, friends, and anyone You put in our path today! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
