Good morning! Shout out to my only BIG brother on his birthday! Happy Birthday Pete – I’m thankful for you and love you more than you know! Proud of who you are and what God is doing in you!

As we continue to BE TRANSFORMED, we must recognize the importance of knowing God’s truth so that we are not swayed by the things of the world that make us “feel good.” When I am completing a project at work, I am normally not finished after the first draft or first attempt. I run it by my boss and coworkers to get their honest feedback and to learn from their experience.

I rely on their honest feedback to help me grow and deliver my very best! If I was not provided with honest feedback (the truth) and settled for someone telling me what I would want to hear, I would never be able to see the areas where I am not reaching my potential.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

    2 Timothy 3:16-17

God’s Word must be the constant truth in our lives, the standard by which we live. Paul charged Timothy, his spiritual son, with these words:

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke, and encourage – with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”

    2 Timothy 4:2-3

Our responsibility, as Christians, is to know God’s Word and be an example to those around us. Set the standard and provide truth to those around us with great patience and careful instruction. It’s easy for us sometimes to become frustrated when the people around us don’t accept God’s love when it seems so clear to us, but we must remain steadfast to display the same patience that God has displayed to us.

Let’s do our very best each day to get God’s Word into our heart, mind, and spirit to maintain the ability to discern the truth when we are confronted with lies and to lead the people around us to do the same!

Heavenly Father, thank you for providing us with the truth! What a privilege it is to have Your Word available in different translations and on our phones, but help us to have Your Word stored in our hearts! Help us to discern the truth in all circumstances by using Your Word as our standard! Help us to be patient with those around us and love them as You do! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
