Good morning! Today is a milestone post! Today marks 100 days of Be-Transformed.org! I hope you have been enjoying this as much as I have! My prayer is that each person who takes a few minutes each day to read these posts is challenged to create a daily habit of spending time with Jesus so that we will BE TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our mind and the regeneration of the Holy Spirit!
This is so important if we want to experience all that God has for us! A couple other things that are important to growing in our relationship with God is the company we keep and the places we frequent! At work, I have an index card sitting on my desk with the following verses written out.
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on His law day and night.”
Psalm 1:1-2
This is a constant reminder to me to be a man of integrity in the workplace and always reminds me of my true purpose at my job – to honor God and set an example for the people around me. Be an instrument of truth, honesty, integrity, and compassion as I interact with those others. Don’t try to fit in, but be ok with standing out for Jesus!
Next to these verses in my Bible I wrote – “Walk with God and love His Word – you will always stand firm and bear fruit!” Psalm 1:3 says, “That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.”
When I read this verse, my minds eye immediately goes to a huge, thriving tree with a thick trunk with roots that goes deep and wide! That tree will not fall when the winds blow and the storms come because it is rooted and grounded in good soil which provides all the necessary nutrients for strength!
The same thing is important for us – to have roots that are deep and wide in God’s Word, and spending time with other believers that will challenge you to grow! True friends will not just tell you what you want to hear or make you feel better about what you are doing or how you are living, but they will give Godly wisdom grounded in the truth of God’s Word!
Let’s continue to be passionate about God’s Word and intentional about applying it to our lives!
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us this morning to be people of integrity. Help us to apply Your Word each day to live the life that we proclaim as followers of Jesus! Help us to make choices that will honor You, even when they are not the most popular decisions according to the people around us. Help us to live for You and You alone so that we will always stand firm and yield fruit in season! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
