Good morning! Have you ever played phone tag with someone? I’m sure the answer is a resounding yes! There are times when I try to reach out to someone, leave a message and wait for a call back. When they call back, I miss the call for some reason, listen to the voicemail (IF they leave one – most of the time they send a text saying to call them back), and proceed to call them back.

Sometimes this goes on for the entire day before I am finally able to communicate with the person. The thing that drives me crazy when this happens is when I try to call the person back right away and they DON’T pick up?! It leaves me wondering… what happened in the last minute or two that makes them unavailable?

Or how about when you are in a text conversation with someone and then they all of a sudden with no heads up, seem to fall off the face of the planet and stop responding mid conversation?! My most often thought is… they could have warned me they were going into a store, they didn’t want to talk anymore, their phone was about to die… something to let me know that I shouldn’t expect them to respond.

In either case, it leaves me wondering if I’m being dodged or if the person really is busy with or got sidetracked by something else. I begin to feel like maybe I said something to offend the other person or whatever we were talking about was more important to me than it was to the other person.

As convenient as cell phones are today, I often long for the days before them. Times when you had to call the house phone to talk to someone and talk to a family member before getting the person you wanted.

There is ONE person who is ALWAYS available! When you call, He is sure to pick up! One person who is NEVER too busy and no conversation is unimportant! It’s Jesus! You can always count on Him to provide the support, guidance, and friendship you are looking for – and SO MUCH MORE!

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

    Jeremiah 33:3

Heavenly Father, thank You for how responsive You are to us! Whenever we call You, Your Word promises that You will answer us! Others may disappoint us or let us down, but You NEVER will! Help us to communicate with You each day in constant prayer and allow You to lead us, encourage us, and provide what we need to accomplish Your Will! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
