Good morning! This morning I am reminded of God’s sovereignty and power! No matter what we have ahead of us, we are not alone – and if we don’t have the ability or know how, we serve a God that is fully capable and full of all knowledge and wisdom!
In the story of Joseph, Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret for him. The chief cupbearer was reminded about how Joseph – 2 years earlier – interpreted his dream in the prison, and everything that Joseph said came true. So Pharaoh calls for Joseph and says to him…
“I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”
Genesis 41:15
Joseph’s response blows me away!
“I cannot do it, Joseph replied to Pharaoh, but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”
Genesis 41:16
This answer shows us that Joseph recognized that God was with him, God was in control, and that the interpretation came from God alone! He exemplified total reliance on God and gave all glory to God!
He didn’t take any of the credit for himself and recognized that without God, he could not interpret the dreams.
Today, let’s recognize all that God has done in and through us. Take a moment to think about His goodness, power, faithfulness, and love!
- The ability to have a personal relationship with Him!
- The various talents that he has given to each one of us to accomplish His will.
- The opportunity to partner with Him to have an impact on others.
- The journey He has taken you on and how He has always made a way!
Heavenly Father, we are so thankful that you walk through this journey of life with us! We thank you that you are the God of the impossible and nothing is too difficult for you! Help us to recognize all that you have done in and through us. Help us to rely on you in every moment – not just the difficult times, but every single moment! We give you thanks and praise because of who you are! You are a good, good father! In Jesus Name – AMEN!
